Admissions

Ryerss Farm’s quality reputation far exceeds its resources.  With over 340 horses on the waiting list, it usually takes at least six years from the time a horse is placed on the list until there is an opening for that horse.  A horse may be added to the list at any age but will not be eligible for admittance until he or she is at least 20 years old.  For more information on the admittance policy, please review Ryerss’ Admittance Policy.

Once an opening is available, the owner will be notified in writing.  At that time, the owner may wish to defer admittance for a one, two, or three year period, subject to availability.  If the owner elects to admit the horse, the owner will contact Ryerss to schedule a time to bring the horse to Ryerss Farm.  The owner is required to have the horse ready for admittance.  For information on the requirements, please see Requirements at Time of Admission.  The owner is responsible for bringing the horse to Ryerss Farm.  When a horse is admitted, transfer of ownership will be given to Ryerss Farm.  A one-time admittance donation is requested based on the horse’s age.  At this time, the donation for horses between the ages of 20 and 24 is $5,000 and the donation for horses ages 25 and older is $4,500.

If you would like to place your horse’s name on our waiting list, please complete the Application for Waiting List and Admittance Information Form and send them to the following address.
