7 Ways to Give Back to Ryerss Farm

Our mission at Ryerss Farm is to care for aged equines. We provide a home where they can spend their golden years safely and comfortably. Our residents are special animals and we need help to care for them and maintain our facility. There are many ways you can help by donating or volunteering.

Ways to Donate:

Online

This is one of the easiest ways to make a difference. If you go to our website, you will find the online form here. The form is easy and quick to complete. All you have to do is choose the donation type and amount you would like to donate, fill out your name (or remain anonymous), and contact information, finally, select the horse or service you wish to give.

One of our newest options is to donate a “pedicure” for one or two horses. After all, horses need hoof trims every 6 to 8 weeks. To choose this option, click here and select “Horse Pedicure” from the Donation Options dropdown.

Another new option we have added is a donation toward dental care for our seniors. Our residents have a dental visit once every year. You can give the gift of a healthy smile to your favorite resident. This can also be found in our Donation Option dropdown.

AmazonSmile

Did you know that you can help Ryerss Farm when you shop on Amazon? Through Amazon's charitable giving program, AmazonSmile Foundation, you can select Ryerss Farm as your charity of choice. This is another easy way to donate and it’s free! You only have to make the charitable selection once, then, every time you shop on Amazon, AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of eligible purchases to Ryerss Farm.

Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Sign in to http://smile.amazon.com on your desktop or mobile phone browser.

Step 2: From your desktop: go to “Your Account” from the navigation bar at the top of any page, and then select the option to “Select or Change your Charity”. From your mobile browser: choose “Select or Change Your Charity” from the options at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Select “Ryerss Farm For Aged Equines” as your new charitable organization to support.

Amazon also has a Charity List Program of which Ryerss Farm is a part. This program has a list of items that we need and that you may purchase and have sent directly to us.

By Mail

Another easy way is through the mail. You can donate any amount and send a check to: Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines, 1710 Ridge Road, Pottstown, PA 19465. Make your check payable to “Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines.”

Sponsor-A-Horse Program

Sponsoring one of our horses is a fun way for individuals, families, and groups to help a horse. For just $500 a year, you can sponsor one of our residents. This allows you to enjoy visiting, grooming, or just spending time with the horse you sponsor. Our farm is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. so feel free to stop by the farm and choose a horse you’d like to sponsor. You can also read more about each of our special horses on our website. From there, you can print out a Sponsorship Form and fill it out. Then you can send it to Ryerss Farm along with your payment.

Donation Options

A stall endowment is a special way to be remembered at Ryerss. A brass plaque with your loved one’s name will be placed on the door of one of the stalls, or you may donate a brass plate in memory of/honor of /tribute to a friend or animal. Another possibility is to personalize a bench with an inscription which visitors can see while watching the herd in the field. You may also like the “Greener Pastures Plate” that we offer to celebrate an animal who is special to you and has "Gone to Greener Pastures. Lastly, you can buy a Memory Board Plate in honor of a friend or loved one who has died.

Remember Ryerss in Your Will

A final option to consider is helping the horses by naming Ryerss Farm in your will. The following wording is suggested by our legal counsel: “I bequeath to Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines, presently located at Ryerss Farm, 1710 Ridge Road, Pottstown, PA 19465, the sum of _____ dollars (or description of the property, whether real estate, stocks, bonds, or savings certificates, etc.).”

Volunteering is a wonderful experience. Your efforts will be rewarded many times over by the joy and personal fulfillment that comes with knowing that you are making a difference helping a worthwhile cause. Ryerss Farm and all our beautiful horses need you and your unique talents!

Our volunteers come to Ryerss because they love horses. We welcome anyone to become a Ryerss Volunteer, regardless of your experience with horses. Volunteers come in all ages, shapes, and sizes - offering their talents, their ideas, and many times working tirelessly to see a job to the end.

We appreciate any way you are able to help our horses. We are grateful for volunteers, sponsors, and donations. There are so many ways to get involved and spend time with a horse. We promise you will get just as much, if not more enjoyment from giving back to the horses at Ryerss Farm.
