Exciting News: Renovations Are Beginning at Ryerss Farm!

These changes are in effect July 1 through September 2026.

We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the incredible support of our community, the long-awaited Main Barn renovation project is officially scheduled to begin on July 1! This project is a vital step in preserving our historic farm and ensuring our senior residents have the best possible care for years to come.

To keep our horses, visitors, and contractors safe during this major construction project, we will be adjusting our operations from July through September.

Public Visiting Hours

To accommodate active construction during the week, we are adjusting our access:

  • Weekdays: The farm and front gate will be closed to the public Monday through Friday.

  • Weekends: We look forward to seeing you! The farm and Gift Shop will remain open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM.

  • Tours: We are pausing all new guided tour bookings until the project is complete.

Sponsorship Updates

To ensure the safety of our supporters and residents during the construction and summer heat, we are adjusting our sponsorship program for July and August:

  • Current Sponsors: All sponsorship visits are temporarily paused for these two months. To offset this, we are extending all current sponsorship agreements by two months.

  • New Sponsors: We will not be accepting new sponsorships until the renovations are finished.

Volunteer Information

  • Shifts: While we transition operations to the upper barn, volunteer shifts are currently capped. There are no available shifts for the duration of the construction.

  • Applications: We are still accepting new volunteer applications! However, please note that training and scheduling will resume once the renovation is complete.

What to Expect During Your Weekend Visit

While we are excited for these improvements, the Main Barn will be a restricted construction zone. Please follow all posted signage and stay within designated visitor areas. Our operations have temporarily shifted to the upper barn, but there will still be plenty of horses to see and visit in the nearby fields!
