You're Never Too Young To Make A Big Difference

Updated: Sep 10, 2019

This past summer, Ashleigh and Mary Cate, two girls who both love Ryerss, decided to use their summer vacation to do something worthwhile and help the horses at Ryerss Farm. Their parents encouraged them to think of an idea and then waited to see what they would plan!  The girls’ first project was to have a lemonade stand and, after that, they convinced a few neighborhood parents to hold a yard sale over one weekend in July.  During the yard sale they sold books, toys, stuffed animals and some baked goods.  They were both happy and surprised to figure out that they had made about $132.00 from both events!

After the yard sale was over, their parents brought them to Ryerss Farm as a “reward,” and they presented their donation to the staff and volunteers who were working there.  Needless to say, Ashleigh and Mary Cate’s parents were proud of them for coming up with the idea of helping the horses as well as sticking with it!  Everyone at Ryerss Farm wants to thank these two young ladies for their dedication to the horses and for spending their vacation time to help support the Ryerss horses!
