How To Support Ryerss Farm Through Giving Tuesday

Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines is always proud to participate in Giving Tuesday!

Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines is always proud to participate in Giving Tuesday! Created in 2012, this day is meant to celebrate the power of generosity. This campaign, celebrated on November 28th of this year, inspires people to spread their kindness by giving their time and donations or using their voices to help surrounding communities. On Giving Tuesday, you can do anything that contributes to making the world a better place. Whether you smile at a stranger or volunteer at your local food pantry, donating time to an organization in your community is a great way to participate. On this day and every day, choose to be kind! Did you know, on average, it costs about $8,400.000 a year per horse to maintain a comfortable living space, be adequately groomed, and support their health? Donations create a happier home for our rescued and retired horses at Ryerss.

Ways to Donate

There are many ways to donate to Ryerss Farm. You can participate in our Sponsor-A-Horse Program for just $500 a year and even come to the farm and pick which horse to support! You can also meet our horses online to learn more about each of them. Not only will you be able to visit your sponsored horse, but it is an opportunity to create a special bond with them. By sponsoring, you directly contribute to the health and well-being of your favorite residents!

We also have many other donation and sponsorship options. You can give the gift of a horse pedicure, which is extremely important, being that horses need their hooves trimmed every 6-8 weeks. You can sponsor a dental visit, too, being that equines need one per year to keep their mouths and teeth happy and healthy. We also have memory board plates and greener pasture plates for our friends who have gone to greener pastures. You can sponsor a personalized bench for visitors to watch the heard in the field or purchase a stall endowment with your loved one’s name that will be placed on the stall door. And lastly, you can remember Ryerss in your will. We have suggested wording on our donate page if you need assistance!

If you are feeling extra love for our equines, there is also an option to donate. You can sponsor a horse in memory of someone or even for a special occasion. There is an option to have recurring payments and to be anonymous, or you let us know who you are! We are grateful for any donations, and most importantly, we appreciate your time and efforts in aiding our equines.

All donations to Ryerss Farm are tax-deductible. For more details on these donation and sponsorship opportunities, visit our website!

Senior equine farms, also known as horse sanctuaries or retirement facilities, are dedicated spaces where older horses can retire peacefully.

The Importance of Senior Equine Farms

Senior equine farms, also known as horse sanctuaries or retirement facilities, are dedicated spaces where older horses can retire peacefully. These farms offer more than just a safe haven; they provide essential care, including proper nutrition, veterinary attention, and emotional support for aging equines. The physical and emotional needs of older horses can be quite different from younger ones, making these sanctuaries an essential part of the equine community. They allow these wise and experienced animals to enjoy their twilight years without the stress of work or competition.

Challenges Faced by Senior Equine Farms

Our facility relies on donations, grants, and volunteer support to sustain operations. The costs of caring for older horses, including feed, veterinary care, shelter, and medication, can be substantial. Additionally, as horses age, they often require more individualized attention, making the staff-to-horse ratio crucial for their well-being.

How Donations Can Make a Difference

Donations can help senior equine farms upgrade their facilities to provide better living conditions for aging horses.

Improved Facilities and Comfort: Donations can help senior equine farms upgrade their facilities to provide better living conditions for aging horses. This might include building more comfortable stalls, creating safe and spacious pastures, and installing proper fencing. Such improvements contribute significantly to the overall well-being of the animals.

Veterinary Care: Aging horses often require specialized medical attention. Donations can ensure that senior equine farms have access to experienced veterinarians who can diagnose and treat age-related issues promptly. Regular check-ups, dental care, and medication can significantly improve the quality of life for elderly horses.

Nutritional Support: Adequate nutrition is essential for senior horses. Donations can help farms purchase high-quality feed and supplements tailored to the specific needs of aging equines. Proper nutrition can extend their lives and keep them comfortable.

Staffing and Training: More staff members are often needed to care for older horses, as they may require more attention and specialized care. Donations can be used to hire and train dedicated caregivers who understand the unique needs of senior equines.

Educational Programs: Donations can also support educational programs that raise awareness about the importance of caring for aging horses. This can generate ongoing support from the community and ensure the farm's sustainability.

Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines is proud to honor and support Giving Tuesday! Our business is caring for aged, abused, or injured horses, providing a home where they can spend their golden years out to pasture. The horses at Ryerss are never worked, go to auction, or are used for experiments. They simply spend their days grazing and enjoying life with their friends as part of the herd.
