Are you extremely competitive and love to run? Are you someone who loves to walk and talk with family or friends? Do you feel strongly about helping aged equines? Sign up for our Run for the Horses Event! Our Run for the Horses Event is taking place on Saturday, April 17th, 2021. Participants have the option to participate in a 10K run, a 5K run, or a 1-mile walk.

Registration

There are two ways to register for the Run for the Horses Event. The first way to register is through online registration. If you don’t already have a Run The Day login, you will have to create one for this event. The form will ask you for your name and email address immediately. The second way to register is to download a registration form.

You will print out the registration form to fill out by hand. Make sure to detach the registration form and fill one out per individual. You will then mail this form, or multiple forms, along with a check made payable to Ryerss Farm. Drop this form off or mail it to Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines. Our mailing address is:

1710 Ridge Road

Pottstown, PA 19465

If you decide to register before April 15, 2021, you are considered pre-registered. The 5K pre-registration fee and the 10K pre-registration fee for an individual are $25.00. The walk pre-registration fee for an individual is $20.00. Due to Covid, the sign-up day of the race will not be an option.

Covid Precautions

Due to Covid 19, we have compiled a list of Covid rules to take precautions; we want to keep each and every participant as safe as possible. Two of our largest precautions on the list are the face mask and distance rules. We require everyone who comes to the farm to wear a face mask; this includes runners, visitors, and support teams for runners. Make sure to have your mask accessible during the entire race. Each runner will start the race with the mask on and then, if 6+ feet apart from other runners, the runner will be allowed to remove the mask. If a runner comes in contact within 6 feet of you, make sure to put your mask back on until there are 6+ feet between the two of you. When you are within 100 yards of the finish line, please be courteous and put your mask back on to protect our staff.

When you register, you signify that you have not had any Covid symptoms, you have not tested positive for Covid, you have not been in contact with anyone who has Covid within 3 weeks, and you have not been in quarantine. If you have a fever or are under quarantine when race day arrives, we ask that you do not come to the farm.

Runners may be staggered, at the starter’s discretion, for a safe distance. Each participant will have a chip to time their individual race from start to finish. The chip will start and stop the time once a runner goes over the start and finish mat. The staggered time will not penalize any runner. The times and division winners will be announced online on our website. Medals won’t be handed out in person so if you earn one, it will be mailed to you!

Thank You
